Cooper's Collars was born out of one of the most difficult periods of my life. I was suffering from crippling anxiety, panic attacks, depression and chronic insomnia when a friend suggested that I try making a dog collar. The suggestion came during a dog walk with the idea being that the mindful nature of the braiding might help my anxiety.  And so it began.

What started with one collar for my own dog, quickly lead to another, and then another... I began making them for friends dogs (whether they wanted them or not!), and I soon began receiving compliments about them. By pure chance, I was then lucky enough to be introduced to someone locally who ran dog events who invited me along to one of her events with my collars. I arrived with a couple of boxes of collars and leads, nothing to put them on, and no idea what I was doing! They were the kindest people and they loved my products, and so the idea evolved.

Fast forward a few months, and I did a couple of small events on the run-up to Christmas 2025, and the feedback I received on my produts was amazing.  And so here we are.

​

The name Cooper's Collars came from a conversation with my kids around the dinner table. Cooper is our family dog - a typical Velcro Vizsla who, in reality, is only my dog! He has been my saviour: I've had to get up and walk him no matter what, even during my darkest times when I really didn't want to.  And I'm lucky enough to have the best friends to walk with, who have supported me throughout the difficult times.

Building this little business has given me back my belief in myself, and a sense of purpose. I love making every one of these products as each one is unique, and I love seeing all the gorgeous dogs wearing them. And if you're still reading, thank you - and I hope you love my products too.
